Regulating Trash Collection
Refuse – Ordinance No. 1242
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING REFUSE COLLECTION FOR THE CITY OF EASTBOROUGH, KANSAS
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Eastborough to limit the mileage of refuse trucks on city streets in order to reduce wear and tear on city streets and the associated noise pollution.
Section 1: All residents of Eastborough are required to contract with Waste Connections for refuse services per the terms of the contract between the City of Eastborough and Waste Connections, Inc. attached hereto as Exhibit “A” beginning on July 1, 2006;
Section 2: Those residents that have prepaid another refuse company beyond that time will be permitted to delay contracting with Waste Connections until that prepaid contract expires but in no event, however, later than September 1, 2006;
Section 3: No refuse collection company other than Waste Connections will be permitted to make collections with the City of Eastborough after the time allowed in paragraph 2 above expires;
Section 4: The penalty for violation of this prohibition shall be $100 per violation assessed to the unauthorized refuse collection company.
